Kyle Buckley, Class of 2015

Kyle Buckley is a native of Ennis, Texas, and a proud Navarro College Bulldog and Texas Longhorn. Now, Kyle is a software sales executive located in the greater Austin area near Georgetown, Texas. Prior to his role as a tech professional, Kyle completed his associates degree Summa Cum Laude before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin to achieve a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2017.

While at Navarro College, Kyle was involved in student recruitment, acting as an Ambassador, who welcomed prospective students to both the Corsicana and Waxahachie campuses. In this role, he guided campus tours, shared insights about college life, and offered a welcoming presence to new and prospective students. His involvement not only positioned him as a campus leader but also allowed him to build meaningful relationships with peers, staff, and faculty. These activities became pivotal in his personal and academic growth, equipping him with skills in leadership and communication. Reflecting on his time at Navarro, Kyle emphasizes the profound impact that the college had on his life. He attributes much of his success to the support and guidance he received from the academic advisors, professors, and fellow students who shaped his educational experience. Kyle's words echo his gratitude:

“I cannot recommend Navarro College enough to any new students who are seeking not only a place to kick start their academic career and develop as a professional, but also if you’re looking to seek a tight knit community filled with staff and professors that will be there to support you every step of the way. Navarro College is the place to be.”

Kyle’s success has not gone unnoticed by those who mentored him. Dr. Kenneth Martin, Ellis County President, Emeritus, speaks highly of Kyle, praising him as a brilliant student who demonstrated a clear commitment to his future. Dr. Martin, who continues to keep in touch with Kyle, expresses immense pride in his accomplishments, noting that Kyle took the essential steps to ensure his long-term success.

Courtney Vandiver, Kyle’s former supervisor, fondly recalls his ambition, motivation, and sense of responsibility, even as a 19-year-old student. She knew early on that Kyle would go on to achieve great things, thanks to his drive and unwavering work ethic.

Throughout his academic journey, Kyle was also the recipient of several prestigious honors: the Distinguished Caston Scholarship, Brilliance Foundation Scholarship, and Graduate Caston Scholarship. These awards are a testament to his academic excellence and leadership, marking him as an outstanding representative of the Navarro College community.

In addition to his role as a student Ambassador, Kyle dedicated significant time to volunteer work, particularly mentoring students in Waxahachie ISD. Through these mentorship activities, he offered guidance and support to younger students, helping to foster their academic and personal growth. This volunteer experience not only contributed to the local community but also reinforced Kyle's leadership skills and commitment to service—qualities that would further shape his career and character.

Kyle’s journey reflects his dedication to personal growth, service, and academic excellence. As an impressive student and now an accomplished professional, he continues to embody the values instilled in him during his time at Navarro College. We are proud of his achievements and look forward to the meaningful influence he will continue to have on his community and beyond.
