Teaching and Child Development

Become a leader in learning. The demand for qualified educators is always pressing, and teacher shortages in some Texas regions mean that need is rising. Navarro College's Education track will help you launch a rewarding career inspiring others, whether you're drawn to early child development or high school teaching. A teacher helps others reach their full potential.

EDUCATION PATHWAYS

CHOOSING THE RIGHT FIT

If you're interested in working with pre-kindergarten through high school students during their more formative years, elementary, early childhood or 8-12 education might be the best fit for you. During this time, students are developing their social and cognitive skills. You'll likely be working directly with students in more traditional educational or teaching setting.

If you're interested in working with the early development of young children from their infancy stages through their adolescent years, becoming a childcare teacher, teacher's assistant or childcare worker might be the best fit for you.  You will discover how family structure and culture can influence communication in a child's environment and you will learn to apply your knowledge as an advocate for children and their families.

Regardless of which pathway you pursue, you'll want to make sure you complete the proper education in order to fully operate in your field.
